With the summer break kicking into full swing for area schools this week, summer cleaning and summer projects are getting underway as well. For the Vandalia School District, that means one big project that will benefit several schools in the region as well as smaller projects for the Vandalia District itself. Vandalia Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jennifer Garrison says work is going on with the OKAW 2 location with plans for it to be in use when students return in August.
For the Vandalia School District buildings themselves, work includes a facelift for the VCHS office and work on VJHS classrooms as well as work though Forging Our Future at Mark Greer Field.
There will also be roof work done at both VJHS and Jefferson coming as a result of storm damage as the district’s insurance claim has been processed allowing that work to proceed.
