Fiscal Year 2026 finished up recently, and the City of Vandalia did see solid tax numbers during the year.
On the General Sales Tax side, the City of Vandalia collected $2,513,533.80 during Fiscal Year 2026. That is a new all time high for one fiscal year.
As for Hotel/Motel Tax, the City of Vandalia collected $117,287 during FY ‘26. That is up from $113,000 the previous year, but still down from the all time high year in 2023 and also down from 2024.
Meanwhile, as we earlier reported, the City of Vandalia got their first month of grocery tax from the 1% tax that is now implemented by the city after the state dropped it. In the first month, the City of Vandalia received over $40,000 from the grocery tax. That amount was about twice what was originally expected from the tax.
