There was a lot of talk about Tax Increment Finance Districts, or TIF, at this past week’s Economic Development Commission meeting.
It was the main and major topic of discussion during the meeting. After the meeting, City of Vandalia Economic Development Director Amber Daulbaugh said the city is short right now on available TIF funds. But, she says that will get better over time.
The City of Vandalia is also talking about the possibility of adding a Residential TIF District. Daulbaugh says with a housing shortage locally and around the country, this kind of plan can make a lot of sense.
Also, Daulbaugh says she encourages anyone with questions about TIF to contact her office for more information or answers to their questions.
