TIF was the topic for April’s Economic Development Commission meeting

Tax Increment Finance Districts were the topic of discussion for April’s Economic Development Commission meeting.

TIF Consultant Adam Stroud was on hand to present some information to the commission and City of Vandalia Economic Development Director Amber Daulbaugh also spoke on Vandalia’s 2 TIF districts.

Speaking after the meeting, Mayor Doug Knebel says one of the issues for the City of Vandalia right now is there is a low amount of funds available in TIF, because of multi-year agreements that were made in the past.

Another topic of discussion during Wednesday’s EDC Meeting was the possibility of the City of Vandalia establishing a Residential TIF District. Mayor Knebel talks about what they are looking for with that possibility.
