(Chicago, IL) — An illegal immigrant accused of firing shots near Border Patrol agents last year in Chicago is pleading guilty to a federal firearm charge. Prosecutors say Hector Gomez admitted that he was driving a Jeep Wrangler in the Little Village neighborhood on November 8th when he fired at least two rounds from a handgun in the proximity of Border Patrol agents during Operation Midway Blitz. Gomez was previously convicted of a felony firearm offense in Cook County. He will be sentenced in July.
