DeKalb Co., IL) — Illinois State Police is investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting on I-88 in DeKalb County. Authorities say a Naperville Police officer located a vehicle yesterday near Route 59 and North Aurora Road that was wanted in connection with a missing person who was reportedly experiencing a mental health crisis. The driver brandished a firearm and then fled in the vehicle. Officers chased the vehicle, which came to a stop on I-88 near Keslinger Road. Both the driver and a Warrenville Police officer reportedly opened fire during the incident, and the driver suffered a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
