(Springfield, IL) — The Illinois House is advancing a proposal that would help relocate the Bears to Arlington Heights. State Representative Kam Buckner spoke after the Democratic-run House voted to pass the megaprojects bill.
The measure would allow the Bears to negotiate property tax payments directly with Arlington Heights. The bill now moves to the State Senate. The Bears released a statement saying they welcome the progress made on the House’s version of the bill, but additional amendments are needed to make the Arlington Heights site feasible for their stadium project.
