Our forecast for today calls for showers and thunderstorms hitting the area late this afternoon and early this evening with a high today of 81. Wind from the southwest will gust up to 20 miles per hour today. Then, showers and storms are likely for tonight with a low of 62.
Meanwhile, we have a threat for severe weather today. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected this afternoon between 2 pm and 8 pm. Some of the storms may be severe. The National Weather Service says that large hail and damaging winds are the primary threats and the tornado risk would be low.
