The Fayette County Coroner’s Officer was called to handle two deaths on Sunday.
In a report from Fayette County Coroner Dave Harris, it states that on Sunday the Fayette County Coroner’s Office was dispatched two times by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
The first called was early on Sunday morning. Coroner Harris says 38 year old John A. Feltner was pronounced dead at 4 am in his home in St. Elmo. An autopsy was performed on Feltner on Monday morning in Springfield. Harris says no further information is being released in regards to his death at this time.
Harris says the second dispatch was in the late afternoon on Sunday. Shortly after 5 pm, 77 year old John C. Hampson, Senior of Ramsey was pronounced dead at his residence. An autopsy will be performed in Springfield on Wednesday. Harris says that several agencies were involved in the incident including the St. Elmo Police Department, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and various Illinois State Police agencies. Harris says the incident is pending further investigation and no further information is being released.
