(Springfield, IL) — The state owes Springfield’s two largest hospitals a great deal of money. “The State Journal Register” reports Memorial Medical Center and St. John’s Hospital haven’t been paid at least 76-million-dollars combined for the care of state workers, retirees and dependents. That amount continues to grows as Illinois deals with a budget crisis.
