Gov. J.B. Pritzker says Illinois is open to foreign investment, but the Illinois House Republican leader says the governor needs to lower state income taxes.
The governor addressed the Chicago Consular Corps General Assembly on Monday.
Pritzker expressed hope for greater collaboration with the consuls’ respective countries.
Illinois House Republican Leader Tony McCombie, R-Savanna, told The Center Square that the governor needs to lower the tax burden to grow the state’s economy.
McCombie said Pritzker cannot tax the state into prosperity.
