(Coles County, IL) — An Edgar County judge is sentenced to a year of supervision after pleading guilty to reckless driving. Edgar County Judge Matthew Sullivan, of Paris, initially charged with DUI and more related to an alleged drunk driving stop in Charleston back in August of last year. Officers who stopped him say Sullivan showed signs of impairment, had the smell of alcohol on his breath, and admitted to officers that he’d had four beers over three hours. Upon searching the judge’s vehicle, officers found 14 empty beer cans inside. Sullivan was fined more than 32-hundred dollars, had to complete a DUIT course and counseling, and cannot drink or go to bars.
