The Vandalia School Board during their monthly meeting on Thursday night approved several items that will see renovations and construction projects for the district. For the two largest items, a bid was approved from Mettler Development in the amount of $824,440 for the OKAW 2.0 Project and a bid from D7 Roofing in the amount of $919,403 was approved for roof replacement of Vandalia Jr. High School and Jefferson. A three-part bid from Gould Flooring totaling $244,015 for flooring replacement at Vandalia Jr. High was approved as was a bid from Davis Houk Mechanical for Controls Replacement in the amount of $199,750. Two bids were approved from Fulk Constructions for projects with the first being for $68,300 for the VJHS Toilet Partition Replacement Project and the second is for $157,300 for the Office Remodel Project at Vandalia High School. All bids were approved by a vote of 7-0 as all board members were present for the meeting.
Also at the meeting, a bid was approved for a non-construction related item as approval was given for the district’s portion of a bid for welding equipment for OKAW in the amount of $326,517.85.
