
We will see a threat of severe weather and possibly some snow this afternoon and tonight over the area.
Our forecast for today calls for rain and thunderstorms with a high of 65. Winds from the south will gust better than 40 miles per hour. Rain will then eventually change to snow for tonight with a low of 22. We will see snow accumulation of less than 1/2 inch tonight.
We also have a threat of severe storms this afternoon and this evening. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says a line of showers and thunderstorms will form early this afternoon over sections of central Missouri. The NWS says the thunderstorms could strengthen as they progress through the afternoon. They say the primary threat will be damaging winds with a secondary threat of a few brief, weak tornadoes. The latest maps show storms arriving in our area between 4 pm and 6 pm today.
