
We will have a relatively calm day today before a crazy weather day on Sunday.
Today we will see partly sunny skies with a high of 58. Winds from the southeast will gust about 20 miles per hour today. Then, we’ll see partly cloudy skies for tonight with a low of 49 Winds from the southeast will gust better than 25 miles per hour tonight.
Sunday won’t be so calm. We’ll see rain with thunderstorms in the afternoon with a high of 66. South winds will gust better that 40 miles per hour. That rain will eventually change over to snow as we’ll see a low all the way down to 22 on Sunday night. Our forecast at this time says we are looking at less than a half inch of snow accumulation.
As that strong cold front arrives to the area, so will a chance of severe storms. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says a line of thunderstorms will form Sunday afternoon in the vicinity of the front, moving east across the region. Damaging winds and tornadoes are the primary threat from these severe storms. The mostly likely time for the storms will be on Sunday afternoon.
