City of Vandalia likely to get Letter of Interest from company looking to place Data Center here, research by the community will continue

The City of Vandalia is likely to officially find out interest from a company in regards to placing a Data Center here.  And, the community will continue to do their research on the matter.

Last week, the City of Vandalia’s Economic Development Commission met with Michael Carter of BBT who gave a presentation on Data Centers.  He also stated they are likely to be sending a Letter of Interest to the City of Vandalia to locate a Data Center here.  City of Vandalia Economic Development Director Amber Daulbaugh says they will continue their homework on the matter.

Several pros and cons were laid out for a Data Center in the community.  Probably the biggest concern would be the added power needed in a state that has already seen skyrocketing electric prices over the past few years.
