Four Lady Vandals wrestlers were in action this weekend at the 39-team Hoffman Estates Girls Hawk Invite with all four finishing in the top 25 for the large tournament. Brynn Swyers finished in 11th place at 170lbs after going 2-2 on the day, falling in Championship Round 2 and working her way back to the 11th Place Match where she picked up a win by Fall in 53 seconds. Also in the 170lbs weight class, Marlee Carroll went 2-2 on the day, losing in Championship Round 1 and then advancing to the 17th Place match where she suffered a loss by Fall in 30 seconds to finish in 18th Place. At 145lbs, Aydia White suffered a loss in Championship Round 2 after a Round 1 win and worked back to go 3-2 on the day and get a win by Fall in 1:12 in the 13th Place Match. At 115lbs, Briley Sefton went 2-3 on the day getting a win by Fall in 1:36 Consolation Round 1 and getting a win by Medical Forfeit in her final match of the day. The Lady Vandals now have just two days off as they have a quick return to action, traveling to Edwardsville on Tuesday to compete in the 618 Scramble.
