An Illinois legislator is raising a red flag over state taxpayer funds going to an organization they say is actively working to impede federal law enforcement.
Public records show Centro de Trabajadores Unidos, or the United Workers Centra, receiving over $3.6 million from the state of Illinois since 2015, most of that coming since 2023. Illinois Republican State Representative Adam Niemerg has a problem with their funding.
The group’s Facebook page features postings declaring “kidnapping confirmed by ICE,” with instructions on reporting and taking photos and videos of ICE activity. Some messaging on the group’s page says “STAND UP FIGHT BACK!”
Niemerg said this is the tip of the iceberg in Illinois and the Trump Administration should step in and investigate.
