City of Vandalia holds their first meeting on America’s 250th Celebration

The City of Vandalia held their first meeting on Monday in regards to America’s 250th birthday celebration this year.

City of Vandalia Economic Development and Tourism Director Amber Daulbaugh said the biggest thing they are wanting to have is local events tied into the 250th birthday throughout this entire year. And, she added that any city event that happens in 2026 will have a component of the 250th birthday tied in. The first such event that will tie in will be the annual Lincoln’s Birthday Celebration at the Vandalia Statehouse on Saturday, February 7th. Daulbaugh says they are just looking for any and all ideas.
