Leading Republican Candidate for Gov Darren Bailey and his running mate were in Vandalia on Saturday for big fundraising event

The leading Republican candidate for Illinois Governor and his running mate were in Vandalia on Saturday evening for a big fundraising event.

Darren Bailey and running mate Aaron Del Mar were on hand for the fundraiser at the Vandalia Moose Lodge on Saturday evening.  Former Senator Bailey says it is really great to see a great turnout for the event.

And, Del Mar says–being from another area of the state–this is exciting and somewhat new to him.

Bailey, who is a former State Representative and State Senator, ran unsuccessfully for Governor in 2022 against Democrat J.B. Pritzker.  But, according to recent polls, Bailey looks to be the chosen candidate for Republicans.  We will talk more about that coming up tomorrow.
