For the second time in a 10 day period–in the dead of winter–Fayette County was hit by severe thunderstorms.
The earlier round of storms–on December 28th–prompted multiple Severe Thunderstorm Warnings in southern Fayette County. But, on Thursday night, it was northern Fayette County’s turn to see two separate storms that were under Severe Thunderstorm Warnings. The first of those storms worsened as it left Fayette County and eventually prompted a Tornado Warning in Christian County. The hazards that were possible with both of the storm cells that went severe on Thursday night were 60 mile per hour winds. No reports of any damages or issues as of this time.
