
Rain and thunderstorms are heading our way this afternoon and this evening and we have a threat of severe storms.
Today’s forecast calls for rain and thunderstorms–with some rain during the earlier hours but storm activity being in the afternoon–with a high of 63. Winds from the south will increase during the day and increase to gusts of better than 35 miles per hour this afternoon. Then, rain and thunderstorms for tonight with a low of 48.
Meanwhile, we have a threat of severe weather over the area for this evening. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says There is a chance that a shower or two
becomes severe between 3 and 9 pm with a threat of isolated, weak tornadoes and damaging winds. The NWS says confidence is still low that there will be enough
instability for severe weather—severe weather could even occur without lightning or thunder. According to the most recent maps, the most likely timeline for severe storms for our area would be between 5 pm and 9 pm this evening.
