(Springfield, IL) — Illinois is being awarded more than 193-million-dollars to expand healthcare access in rural areas in the state. The funding is part of the federal Rural Healthcare Transformation Program fund. All 50 states applied for the RHTP funding. State officials say the funds won’t be enough to counteract the cuts imposed to the Medicaid program through various provisions in the Trump Administration’s budget bill.
