More than 81,000 deer were harvested during the firearm deer season in Illinois.
Over the 2 weekends (November 21st through 23rd and December 4th through 7th) there were a total of 81,225 deer taken. That was down from 82,496 taken in 2024 during the two weekends.
In Fayette County, there were 1,275 deer harvested in the first weekend and an additional 765 taken in the 2nd weekend for a total of 2,040. That is up from 1,967 last year.
In Effingham County, there were 699 taken in the first weekend and 392 taken in the second weekend for a total of 1,091 deer. That is down from 1,128 last year.
Bond County saw 533 deer harvested in the first weekend and 295 taken in the second weekend for a grand total of 828. That is down from 868 last year.
Meanwhile, Fayette County had among the highest total of deer harvested in one county for this year. They come in at #4 overall. The top 5 list—
