We hear more today about Unity Park, the partnership project between the YMCA and Kaskaskia College that will occupy a 16-acre space of land between the Y and the Kaskaskia College Education Center, which will feature a variety of activities from playgrounds and athletic fields to public art and landscape designs. When asked if they had a timeline set out, YMCA CEO Ben Frazier said that he is hoping to see a lot of progress in the next couple of years.
In terms of fundraising, Frazier says that he still has some things to discuss with Kaskakia College President George Evans. The Y is currently working on donation packets for the public, and they are expecting those to be ready in the next couple of weeks.
