Vandalia Police Department releases report from October 1st bomb threat at Vandalia High School

The Vandalia Police Department is releasing a final report in regards to the October 1st bomb threat at Vandalia High School.

Report from the Vandalia PD–

On October 1, 2025, the Vandalia Police Department responded to a reported threat involving Vandalia Community High School. In coordination with school officials and assisting agencies, students and staff were evacuated as a precaution while the building was searched.

No devices or weapons were located, and the incident was resolved without injury.

Following an investigation conducted in cooperation with state and federal law enforcement partners, a juvenile suspect who resides in Fayette County has been identified. Investigative reports have been submitted to the Fayette County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.

Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation and the involvement of a juvenile, no further information will be released at this time.
