The dates for Summer Fest 2026 at Vandalia Lake are set and the planning for the event is currently underway.
During Monday night’s Vandalia City Council meeting, City of Vandalia Economic Development and Tourism Director Amber Daulbaugh updated the Vandalia City Council on the planning for the event. With July 4th being on a Saturday in 2026, there had been work to attempt to get fireworks on that date. But, Daulbaugh said she could not find any company available for fireworks on July 4th. So, they have set fireworks on Thursday, July 2nd and she says that day will be set as the kickoff for the Summer Fest Event. She says they are currently looking for a headlining band for Friday and then more local bands on Saturday. She also says they are looking at an enhanced children’s section and fishing derby to be part of this year’s event, which will be July 2nd through 4th at Vandalia Lake.
