Governor Bruce Rauner says he will definitely veto the MAP Grant spending bill lawmakers approved last week. The legislation includes money for college MAP Grants, community colleges and adult education—at a cost of 721 million dollars. The bill does not specify where that money is going to come from says Governor Rauner, who notes that Senate President John Cullerton hasn’t sent him the measure yet.
Cullerton has said he’s holding onto the bill for a bit to give the Governor time to rethink his position.
