Although the Illinois House rejected a bill to regulate home insurance providers, lawmakers are expected to take up insurance regulation again next year.
House Bill 3799 fell short after passing the Illinois Senate last week.
In the House, state Rep. Jeff Keicher said the bill would turn the insurance industry on its head.
State Rep. Thaddeus Jones told state Rep. Robyn Gabel the bill should also regulate auto insurance rates.
Jones said auto rates should be included and urged a “no” vote.
