(Chicago, IL) — U.S. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is pushing for redrawing the Illinois congressional maps. The New York Democrat met with members of Illinois’ congressional delegation and the state legislative Black Caucus in Chicago yesterday, urging the lawmakers to redraw its congressional map in order to add one additional Democratic seat. Jeffries believes that will counter President Trump-backed redistricting in GOP-led states.
