Dieterich girls cross country team turned in a sixth place finish to earn an advancing spot to the Sectional meet while Altamont senior Katie Tedrick turned in a qualifying individual finish to advance to the meet as well. At the Cumberland 1A Regional, the Lady Maroons took sixth place behind Marshall, Newton, St. Anthony, Robinson and Lawrenceville to meet the top seven team qualifying standard to advance. Junior Lena Goebel led the way for Dieterich with an eighth place finish. Individually, Altamont’s Tedrick finished in 32nd place and grabbed the final individual qualifying spot for runners not on an advancing team. Dieterich girls team and Tedrick will compete at the Cumberland 1A Sectional this Saturday at Lake Land College.
At the Shelbyville 1A Regional, CHBC sophomore Zoe Sarver missed qualifying for the Sectional meet by just one place and one second as she came in 26th and was the sixth finisher not on an advancing team, just missing out on the qualifying spot as a Central A&M runner finished just 0.97 seconds ahead of her for the fifth and final spot.
