Work to identify any Lead Service Lines in the City of Vandalia continues.
At Monday’s Vandalia City Council meeting, Engineer Lee Beckman discussed the current ongoing work in town to check the lines. Alderman Bob Bowen asked Beckman to explain the process with some input from City Public Works Director James Jackson.
The City of Vandalia is required to develop a complete Lead Service Line Inventory for the City. The City of Vandalia has gotten grants to help with the work to identify the lines in the community, and Beckman said they could apply for another grant if needed. But, there is some belief they have gotten past the point of needing another grant.
