(Springfield, IL) — The jury is set in the trial of the former Sangamon County Sheriff’s deputy charged in the killing of Sonya Massey last year. Sean Grayson faces charges of first-degree murder, aggravated battery with firearm and official misconduct in Massey’s July 2024 shooting death inside her home. A panel of 12 jurors and three alternates was selected yesterday in Peoria County court. Opening statements will begin tomorrow morning.
