Community College Presidents from around the region and southern Illinois gathered at Kaskaskia College’s campus on Thursday to celebrate 60 years of impact in Illinois.
Kaskaskia College President George Evans says he was very pleased to host the event at Kaskaskia College and he says they have to continue to tell their story.
And, Evans says one big part of that story is affordable education.
According to data from the Illinois Community College Board, there was significant growth in several enrollment categories this year, including a nearly 20% increase in students enrolled in dual credit programs, which allow high school students to earn college credits. There was also a 23% increase in students seeking general associate degree programs.
