(Springfield, IL) — The state of Illinois is paying tribute to former Governor Jim Edgar. US and state flags in Illinois are being flown at half-staff to honor Edgar, who died over the weekend at the age of 79 following a battle with pancreatic cancer. He served as governor from 1991 to 1999.
