The Fayette County Board has approved three appointments to establish a Sheriff’s Office Merit Board. Fayette County Sheriff Ronnie Stevens talks about the functions for the Merit Board.
The terms are staggered and Sheriff Stevens says that will be to establish the 3 seats.
The Fayette County Board approved the appointment of Jeffrey Tippin to the board for a 2 year term, expiring in September of 2027. The board approved Larry Halleman to a 3 year term that will expire in September of 2028 and they approved the appointment of Stephen Tarter for 1 year, expiring in September of 2026.
