Extreme Heat & Humidity Continues—Chance of a severe storm this afternoon

We remain with extreme heat and humidity over the area.

We do have a chance of a shower or thunderstorm this afternoon–but we’ll otherwise see gradually clearing skies with a high of 91 and heat index values as high as 105 today.  Then, a chance of showers and storms for tonight with a low of 74.

Meanwhile, we do have a chance of a severe storm over the area this afternoon.  The National Weather Service in St. Louis says there is a chance of severe thunderstorms late this afternoon into this evening. Conditions are favorable enough that severe can’t be ruled out, but severe storms may not occur at all. If they do occur, locally heavy rainfall and damaging winds will be the primary threats.
