(Springfield, IL) — Illinois residents are being asked to report any sightings of armadillos, black bears, gray wolves, and mountain lions. The Illinois Department of Natural Resource says armadillos aren’t native to Illinois, but they have moved into the southern part of the state over the last several decades. The IDNR is only interested in armadillo sightings in the central and northern counties. The agency also says there have been multiple confirmed sightings of mountain lions, black bears, and wolves in Illinois in recent years.
