Meanwhile, we could be looking at some more heavy rainfall and gusty winds over the area for this afternoon and tonight. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says morning showers and storms are forecast to weaken, but additional storms are expected this afternoon/early evening. A few of these storms may be strong to severe, with gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall possible.
