Illinois General Assembly passes $55.2 billion State Budget—State Rep Wilhour’s comments

On the final day of session, the Illinois General Assembly approved the passage of the Fiscal Year 2026 budget, which is a total of $55.2 billion.  Republicans say it increases state spending by $2 billion and includes $1 billion in new state taxes.  Following the passing of the budget, State Representative Blaine Wilhour addresses his colleagues on the Illinois House Floor.
