(Springfield, IL) — Illinois lawmakers are sending a measure that would end mandatory road testing for drivers under 87 to Governor Pritzker’s desk. The bill was approved by the state Senate yesterday. Illinois is the only state that requires a behind-the-wheel driving test for seniors based on age. Currently in the state, drivers 79 and up are required to take vision and behind-the-wheel tests when renewing their licenses.
