Two area girls basketball players were named on Friday as part of the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association’s All-State Teams on Friday. Sophomore Dayana Haslett of Brownstown-St. Elmo has been named Second Team All-State after the second year Varsity player had another big campaign, scoring her 1,000th point in January and leading the Lady Bombers to a runner-up finish in the National Trail Conference regular season and tournament and to a Regional Championship game during their 26-7 campaign. Haslett averaged 22.6 points per game along with 5.1 steals and 2.4 assists per game. Cowden Herrick-Beecher City senior Macee Rodman has been named Special Mention All-State. Rodman capped off her senior basketball season with a 620 point showing this year where she averaged 19.4 points per game as well as 4.8 rebounds and 3.7 steals per game. She finished her time as a Lady Bobcat with 1,688 points for her career and being a part of CHBC’s 74-53 record over the last four years.
