The Vandals Wrestling season heads into the final weekend of the season at the Dual Team State Tournament beginning tonight, as they continue their quest for a state title.
The Vandals come into the State Tournament ranked #1 in Class 1A according to Illinois Mat Men. They are 38-1 in dual team matches this season, with their only loss coming to power program Union County, Kentucky (38 to 36) back on December 11th. Since that time, the Vandals have won 35 straight dual team matches, including Abe’s Rumble back in November when they defeated #3 Coal City and #2 Marian Central Catholic.
Tonight, the Vandals will take on Chicago Hope Academy in the Quarterfinals at 7 pm from Grossinger Motors Arena. The Vandals defeated Chicago Hope Academy, 61 to 13, back on December 28th at Abe’s Rumble. A win puts the Vandals into the semi-finals tomorrow at 11 am to take on the winner of tonight’s match between Oregon and Tolono Unity.
