An accident with injuries occurred on Interstate 70 in Fayette County on Wednesday afternoon.
Illinois State Police reports say the accident occurred at 12:44 pm on Interstate 70 eastbound at milepost 56. Reports say that ISP Troop 9 responded for the report of a 2 vehicle traffic crash. Unit One–which was a Freightliner M2 Box Truck–was driving eastbound on I-70. Unit 2–which was an Illinois Department of Transportation sign truck–was in the I-70 EB Work Zone. State Police say Unit One filed to move over and struck Unit 2. The right lane was initially closed for the accident, with all lanes reopening at 3:32 pm. State Police say that one occupant was transported to an area hospital with injuries.
