(Skokie, IL) — A convicted serial killer on death row in California is back in Illinois after being charged in the murder of a Glenview teen in 1993. Michael Gargiulo appeared in a court in Skokie Friday for the murder of Tricia Pacaccio. The 18-year-old was found stabbed several times on the doorstep of her in unincorporated Glenview home in August 1993. DNA evidence linked Gargiulo to the crime before he was charged in 2011. He was arrest in 2008 for a string of violent attacks in California that left two women dead and another woman injured. He was convicted in 2019 of murder and attempted murder for the California attacks and was sentenced to death in 2021.
