
We are looking at heat and humidity returning to the area in a big way this week.
The National Weather Service in St. Louis says excessive heat warning and heat advisory will be in effect beginning this afternoon and continue through Thursday. The worst conditions will be Tuesday through Wednesday as peak heat index values of 105-110 degrees are forecast across the area. Take measures to avoid heat related illnesses. Stay hydrated, take plenty of breaks if outdoors, and wear loose, light colored clothing.
As for our area, a Heat Advisory will come into effect on Tuesday at 1 pm and run until Thursday at 7 pm. We are looking at heat index readings of around 98 for today, 106 on Tuesday, 107 on Wednesday and 106 on Thursday.
