(Belleville, IL) — Maybe state workers can get paid their full salaries even if there isn’t a budget in place. A St. Clair County Judge ruled yesterday that state workers should be paid in full by the Illinois comptroller’s office. The office released a statement afterwards saying they have begun processing payroll checks due out next Wednesday. The judge’s order contradicts a ruling by a Cook County judge earlier this week that said state employees can only receive the federal minimum wage without an approved state budget.
