Vandalia Mayor Rick Gottman updated the Vandalia City Council on several economic development possibilities.
One area that was discussed was former Bunyard’s Cafe location at the corner of Sunset and Veteran’s in Vandalia. Mayor Gottman said he’s been told there is a contract on the property. Aldermen Russ Stunkel and Andy Lester talked further about it and even the possibility of demolition on the property.
Mayor Gottman said he would look further into that possibility. Also, Mayor Gottman said he has talked with HyVee about the former County Market building. He said he knows they received 3 bids for the property and that 1 was withdrawn. Mayor Gottman said he has been showing the former Purina property and that possibility was moving along well.
