The City of Vandalia approves a land purchase.
After an Executive Session at Monday’s meeting, The Vandalia City Council approved the purchase of 32 aces that is east of the City’s 120 acres of land at the west interchange. They are purchasing the land from Randy Edwards and his sisters at a cost of $15,500 per acre. City Attorney Ryan Connor said the property will be used for economic development in an attempt to add tax revenue and jobs for the community. And, he pointed out the property is in the city’s TIF district.
