The City of Vandalia is working to make sure they will have a Class A Operator for their Water Department after their current Water Department Superintendent leaves his post.
Current Water Department Plant Superintendent Andy Gelsinger will be leaving his post on February 18th. Mayor Rick Gottman says he talked with a former employee who has a Class A Operator’s License if he would come back on a temporary basis to make sure the city was covered. But, Gottman says the former employee declined. Alderman Bret Brosman, who is the head of the Water and Sewer Department, inquired if there were any current employees that might want to get their Class A Operator’s License.
As Engineer Lee Beckman of Milano & Grunloh Engineers stated, they could cover the city for the Class A Operator if the city was without one after Gelsinger’s departure.
